Huruma Centre Youth Group is a community organisation that works across the Huruma area to improve the lives of the ghetto youth.

The key activities of the Youth Group are the following:

  1. Running the Huruma Centre Football Club (The Mambas), and the Huruma Youth Football Club.
  2. Running handicraft workshops to teach the Huruma youth to make handcrafted jewellery, and selling that jewellery across Nairobi.
  3. Running a drama group for the Huruma youth.
  4. Running beauty and modelling contests on an ad hoc basis, to give the young women in Huruma a chance to get into a modelling career.
  5. Running tae Kwando classes under the tuition of Huruma's own Tae Kwando champion, Clyde Kagondu.
  6. Running ghetto-wide environmental clean-ups.
  7. Running a programme to provide homes, schooling, careers and self-respect for the Nairobi street kids.
